Survey Experience: Birds

- A birdwatcher since childhood and a skilled ornithologist.
- Various bird surveys including:
- River Thames corridor at Battersea Power Station and between Putney/Wandsworth Bridges.
- London Squares/parks for the GLA.
- Bird surveys of various locations from Esher/Hersham in Surrey to Church Marshes in Kent.
- Long term bird survey of Epsom and Ashtead Common in relation to National Reserve Status for Epsom and Ewell Borough Council.
- Surveys using the BTO Common Bird Census methodology.
- Site appraisal for nesting birds.
- Considerable experience at home and abroad.
- Time as a guide at Explorer’s Inn in the Peruvian Amazon (boasts the biggest bird list in the world).
- Surveying for seabirds on various marine expeditions from the Atlantic and Southern Oceans to the Indian Ocean, the Pacific and the polar regions (Antarctica and the Arctic).
- Additional experience of birds in many regions of the world from Madagascar to Mauritius, Iceland to Patagonia, The Gambia to South Africa, the Caribbean to the States, and Thailand to Nepal.
- Bird survey of University of London Barking campus for Biodiversity by design.
